Biography

Josh Lovett (he/him) serves as a research associate for the Center for Reaching & Teaching the Whole Child. He is a fourth-year doctoral candidate in the Community & Applied Developmental Psychology Program at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). Josh earned his BA in psychology from Duke University and was a Fulbright Scholar in South Korea for three years before starting his graduate studies. He is broadly interested in the social and behavioral contexts of learning, especially in the social-emotional competencies of teachers, the ways in which teachers adapt social and emotional learning (SEL) programs, and how teachers integrate SEL into their general practice. Josh has a fervid passion for teaching and pedagogy and wants to explore teaching-oriented careers after completing his PhD.
