Plate, R. C., Schwartz, H. N., Meyers, G., & Skoog-Hoffman, A. (2025). Educators’ Social and Emotional Learning: A Landscape Analysis of Strategies and Outcomes for Thriving Schools. CASEL.
This CASEL report ‘Educators’ Social and Emotional Learning: A Landscape Analysis of Strategies and Outcomes for Thriving Schools’ highlights the essential role educators and school staff play in fostering students’ social, emotional, and academic development — emphasizing that adults themselves need meaningful support in developing their own social and emotional competencies in order to effectively model and embed SEL in learning environments. Through a national field scan of adult SEL approaches across schools and educator preparation programs, the report examined leading frameworks, research, and practices shaping the field of adult SEL.
The Center for Reaching & Teaching the Whole Child’s Teacher Educator Institute (TEI) was highlighted in the report as a recognized example of adult SEL learning and educator development in practice. Significant outcomes of the TEI were noted, including increased SEL knowledge, and increased integration of social, emotional, and cultural competencies within teacher preparation programming.
We invite you to learn more about our TEIs here.
