December 2025: Newsletter Gratitude Throughout this month of December, I’ve been reflecting deeply on gratitude. I’ve been trying to take a moment each day to pause and note the many things that I’m thankful for—the incredible team I have the privilege of working alongside at the Center, my family and community of friends, the opportunity to help move this important work forward, good health, and so much more. So when I came across this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson recently, it really resonated with me: “Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.” As we move toward 2026, I invite you to take a few moments to step outside and soak in the beauty of nature, or to look around the room as you gather with others this holiday season. Perhaps take a moment to quietly acknowledge—to yourself or even aloud—how a certain person or several people around you have contributed to your life. And if there are people who aren’t in that room for any reason, maybe take a moment to remember them—offering gratitude for what they have given or continue to give, and for the role they’ve played in bringing you to this moment. In that same spirit of gratitude, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you. Because of your support and belief in this work, the Center continues to move forward—supporting educators to create learning environments where they can flourish alongside their students. With joy and deep appreciation for this work and this community, Rebecca
